The wrong trousers? Dressing for success at awards...

Dress smart. Defined as what? Wearing a suit? A shirt? or just looking nice in a polo jumper and jeans? This one question I found very difficult to answer when I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of an invitation to the National Apprenticeships awards.

Having never been to a corporate event before I had no expectations or experience on what such an event would entail!

Celebrating 5 Years of Apprenticeships

In June 2011, Invotra (iO1, as it was known then) was a very young company.

Still very much in startup mode, we were based in a tiny office called the Old Bakery in Woking here in leafy Surrey. This was the first time that CEO Fin Galvin branched out from his garage office and paid rent for a company office near his home. Interesting times, for those who are familiar with the startup culture. Things were getting serious.

Invotra: Where it all began

Open Source Software offers savings for government, argues Ian Paisley

In June 2014, iO1 parent company of Invotra, were asked to present at a cross parliamentary event at the Houses of Commons on the topic of open source software and the benefits it can deliver to central government.

Passionate about innovation, Ian Paisley took the initiative to bring key minds together to facilitate a discussion.

He later wrote an article in Central Lobby magazine.  Read all about it...

Graduation Day

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became the fresh PM with red hair

Invotra apprentice has been recognised for his achievements on major government contract

Jamie Garrett, 20 from South East London left school with excellent GCSE results.  He’d already shown great aptitude in ICT, but rather than going onto higher education he decided to become an apprentice.

When Invotra went through a period of growth they decided to invest in an apprenticeship programme, one that is now stronger than ever.  Jamie approached Invotra independently about their apprenticeship programme after finishing a short term contract for London 2012 Olympics.

The right apprentice & trailblazing SaaS application - a match made in heaven

As the elections loom and the key political parties advocate their differing manifestos, one of the elements that there isn’t too much of a disparity on is their recognition on the value of Apprenticeships.

With The Conservative Party wanting to create another 3 million apprenticeships, & Labour endeavouring to encourage an equal number of apprenticeships as university applicants within the next decade it’s immense validation regardless of who you support.

Invotra Class 2014/15

Invotra class of 2014 / 15

We’re so proud that our Apprentices are part of a group of trail blazers!  We’ve always been proud of them, but now we are SUPER proud, prouder than Mr Proud from Proud world.  Why? Because they will have their day and be recognised in front of family and friends like all other academic students.  No longer will ‘Apprenticeships’, look like the ‘Degrees’ slightly down trodden relative!
