Agile

Surprising simplicity

I must admit when a client came to us asking for a Message Wall feature, I didn't get it at all.

Frankly I was quite lost as to the reason for the idea, Jamie Garret pushed and pushed and we built it, but I still didn't get the purpose and I just let it run its course through the delivery pipeline and suddenly it was live.

We eat our own dog food so this meant it went live internally on 42 (our intranet name) as well, to very little fanfare of note.

What a good intranet provider delivers

Today I was discussing what are the key things that a good Intranet provider (SaaS or old school) delivers for clients and here are the 5 key areas we believe are critical.

Engaged

Great providers will be completely engaged in all the areas they are needed in, they have a great understanding of not only the systems but the environment within with the client is working in.  They will spend time getting to deeply understand the organisation, its people and its challenges as well as its ambitions.

10 tips to improve your Digital Workspace adoption

Whether you’re replacing your existing Digital Workspace or implementing one for the first time, it’s a big project that requires commitment from your team.

There are, of course, fundamental reasons for implementing an internal collaboration and publishing platform:

  • fragmented workforce with part time and home workers being more commonplace now in most organisations

  • lack of control and trying to keep up with the changes in the organisation and accommodating a new company culture

How Agile makes your Digital Transformation better

To work in a truly agile way it helps if the team is small and the software is flexible, which is the case with Invotra.  Our development teams stay on the project from conception to completion and during that time they’re constantly adapting the project delivery to suit the client, or more often, the user requirements.

SME's disrupting UK Government

The Cabinet Office, with the support of most Government departments has made a conscious decision to move away from massive contracts with massive SI's. The fear of change that existed as a result of conscious effort to introduce FUD by the BIG SI’s is being broken apart and shown for what it is, complete utter nonsense. The reality is that the examples they cite are either edge cases or failures by Big SI’s themselves. SME’s don’t want to deliver, they need to deliver.
