Invotra are best known for providing digital workplaces and intranet solutions to 45% of UK central government, including HMRC, The Home Office and DwP, but their open source platform can be used private enterprise both in the UK and abroad.
Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club is now the USA’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organisation - with 64 regional chapters, 500 staff, 70,000 active volunteers, and more than 3,000,000 members and supporters across all 50 states. To date, Sierra Club have protected tens of millions of acres of land across the US, secured commitments by 50 U.S. cities to move to 100% clean energy, and retired over 260 coal-fired power plants.
Invotra will enable Sierra Club to communicate with staff and volunteers by targeting timely, regional specific communications to each user. In addition, it will also enable staff and volunteers to communicate with other, and share information needed to do their work; helping to meet Sierra Club's mission to protect and preserve the environment.
Invotra are also providing Sierra Club with a brand new extranet, following the recent launch of Invotra 4.0 - a new portal which delivers significant capabilities for organisations that need to reach a dispersed and vast network. Sierra Club will use the portal to give supporters and volunteers access to content that’s specifically relevant to them, and to connect with one another on issues that interest them.
Chris Thomas, Chief Innovation Officer of Sierra Club said of the new partnership, “Invotra’s experience as a leader in the Drupal arena was a key selling point for us, as was the flexibility & scalability of the application itself. It easily integrates with our other applications, and allows us the flexibility to scale as future demands require. I’m really impressed with the platform and with the working relationship our teams have established. We’re excited for Invotra to bring our staff, volunteers, and supporters further along on their journey with us, and strengthen their relationship with the Sierra Club.”
Sinead Hunt, Board Director at Invotra, based out of Denver, “For a UK founded company, working with such a prominent and respected organisation in the USA is a huge win. Sierra Club have a rich and longstanding heritage, but also a really innovative vision when it comes to digital communications and leveraging the latest technologies. We’re very excited to help them realise their vision, & improve communications and collaboration to both internal & external audiences”
When fully operational, the Sierra Club’s intranet platform will be accessible by up to 70,000 users.
