Invotra honoured at Employee Engagement Awards

The Employee Engagement Awards are in their second year.  They’re about ‘recognising the forward thinking businesses that strive to do things differently and put their workforce at the heart of its operation’.

It was a glamorous affair with a gala dinner, live music and the comedian and writer, Danny Wallace was hilarious as he joked and read out the nominees and winners at The Brewery, London.

How SaaS benefits your Workforce

Moving away from complicated technology infrastructure and onto a fully maintained cloud IT service can leave some organisations with concerns about security, resourcing and maintenance.   However these concerns are easily dismissed when we consider the true benefits to a well serviced SaaS.

High adoption & multi device use

SaaS applications are available anytime anywhere so users can login and use the tools - no need to wait until you get back to the office.

The Digital Workspace - Trends of 2016

Last night we had our quarterly meet-up at the IoD.  The attendence was excellent with some new faces as well as some familiar.

We had two inspirational thought leaders, both focusing on Trends for 2016.  One from the Employee Engagement perspective and the other how the Digital Workspace can support new ways to engage employees, from voting for canteen menu to checking fire extinguishers have been tested.  Both were very interesting.

Kurt Kragh Sørensen from IntraTeam asked Paul to speak after listening to him talk on the 'Future of the Connected Enterprise'.  The talk touches on how the micronisation of communication and increase in digital adoption means people are connected to their enterprise more than ever before.  He also discusses how the enterprise can adopt the concept to improve employee engagement.

How the Digital Workspace connects BIM and the IoT

Much has been written over the last couple of years regarding the so-called Internet of Things. For the uninitiated, the Internet of Things is a term that's been used for a few years to describe how physical machines and devices become connected to the Internet. In many cases, these connected devices can connect to each other.

The data that is created by these connected devices fuel higher engagement and intelligence by those who interpret that data: be they humans or other machines.

Digital Workplace V Digital Workspace

I was recently asked internally to explain why we choose 'Workspace' and not 'Workplace' when describing Invotra.

We did think a lot about this at the time and we did have differing internal views on the topic initially.  We settled on Workspace as we felt it more accurately describes the more ubiquitous nature of where people work.

Invotra: Leading the Digital Workspace Evolution

The change from intranets to social intranets took a relatively long time.  When you consider that intranets had been around, in their most raw form, since the early 1990’s it took until 2010 for the social networking craze to impact on business.  Yes, there had been some minor tinkering with proprietary systems allowing people to communicate before 2010, but it was then that businesses started to take the concept seriously.
